Braeburn Athletics - Team BMIS

21st November 2025

BMIS took a team to Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi to take part in ‘Braeburn Athletics’, East Africa’s largest School’s Athletics Event. This year saw over 1000 athletes from 21 different schools compete. We were a small team, but ready to go out and do our best. We were to compete in the 800m, 1500m, vortex throw, turbo javelin, long jump, and discuss. What is important about athletics is that yes, it is an individual sport, but in this competition we compete as a team, and we certainly proved that.

The boys; Mohamed, Ishaan, Etienne, Reuben, Titus and Jayson, supported each other, wished each other luck, and put in an incredible amount of effort into preparing for their events prior to competition day. When it came to it, everyone competed with incredible passion, determination, and resilience. Titus led the team in their warm up, showing some great leadership skills, and Jayson was the epitome of true sporting spirit, after finishing his events, went to support the rest of the team by running next to them to help push them on and encourage them. For sure, this really helped a few of our boys overtake and push that extra ounce to make the finish line a little faster.

Jayson not only performed well as a leader with true sporting spirit, he also managed to run his way to a bronze medal in the boys U13 1500m, an incredible feat!

Congratulations boys for your commitment, resilience, pride, and determination to succeed. Your consistency in showing really shone through.

U11 Cricket Tournament at Shree Academy 15th November

The U11 Cricket BMIS boys brought fantastic intent to the tournament playing two games, showing sharp improvement in their awareness, communication, and decision-making under pressure. Their attitude was brilliant, high energy, fully engaged, and constantly lifting each other throughout.

The results may not have gone our way, but the boys delivered a spirited, all-round performance!

Shree Netball Tournament

On Saturday our netball team represented the school with great energy and determination during the tournament held at Shree Swaminarayan Academy. It was wonderful to see their confidence and teamwork grow with every match.

Beyond the scores, the girls demonstrated resilience and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the games. Their enthusiasm and commitment truly made the school proud.

We look forward to building on this momentum as we continue training for upcoming tournaments. Well done to the entire team!
