BMIS Swimming Gala 2025

7th February 2025

The BMIS Invitational swimming competition 2024/2025 featured a series of events across various age groups for both boys and girls. The swimmers who participated are set to represent BMIS in the upcoming IAPS Competition in March. Saturday’s gala hosted 5 schools, including Peponi House, who had travelled from Nairobi to join us. Our Swimmers worked hard, with many producing their personal bests during the event, with some swimmers cutting nearly 19 seconds off their best times! This demonstrates the fantastic work that Mr Mazazi is putting into BMIS Swimming, and proving that his approach is successful. We, at BMIS, are working on our long term athlete development. This takes time, perseverance, and patience. However, with the race times that our students who train with BMIS are recording, it is clear to see that Mr Mazazi’s methods are successful. We now urge our students who are not training with us to come along to the relevant training sessions in order to prepare for the upcoming IAPS gala and beyond.

Results:

The boys' team secured a strong 3rd place finish, while the girls’ team demonstrated potential for future development. Moving forward, the focus will remain on training, improvement, and building a cohesive team.
