This term has been an exciting journey of creativity and artistic discovery, both in and beyond the classroom. The children have thoroughly enjoyed engaging in a wide range of art lessons and activities.
Year 1 explored resist art, pasta art, and salt dough art, having fun creating dinosaurs in various shapes and forms. They made dinosaur fossils using salt dough, following a recipe, and experimented with resist art to design dinosaur skeletons. If you ever wonder what to do with empty tissue rolls, Year 1 can show you how to transform them into colorful dinosaurs using their cutting and sticking skills!
Year 2 delved into the theme of deserts, creating stunning desert-inspired artwork using different media.
Year 3 focused on African masks, enjoying the process of painting them in bold, vibrant colors that celebrate the richness of African culture.
Year 4 explored Vikings through art, connecting their history lessons with creative expression. They also created beautiful Kenyan-inspired artwork as part of their geography studies on Kenya.
Year 5 studied Kenyan art and artists, particularly Sarah Shiundu, analyzing her unique style and techniques. They practiced observational drawing inspired by Kenyan paintings and worked on a class project crocheting pencil and phone cases, which will be proudly displayed at our upcoming art exhibition.
Year 6 enthusiastically completed their aprons in DT lessons and explored mixed media art, drawing inspiration from a Ugandan artwork.
With the upcoming music and art exhibition, the children are eagerly crafting some truly remarkable pieces for the showcase. It has been a vibrant and inspiring term in art!
