The Year 9 class have been looking at building healthy lifestyles in PSHCE this term. The aim of the series of lessons was to help them learn how to modify their lifestyle to be balanced and promote both physical and mental health. We started by looking at keeping healthy through a good diet and appropriate exercise. This moved on to topics like ensuring a good life balance between all aspects such as keeping time for exercise and hobbies as well as study and social time. Various self-care tips have been shared and we have of course included the vital element of ways to ensure young people are getting the sleep they need at this important stage of their lives. Finally, we looked at first aid as this is also a key requirement of this module.
Below is the diary of self-care that students were given and encouraged to use for one week. We are not including their responses as it is a personal self-care activity.
