Year 9 and 12 Mathematics News

27th October 2023

We have had a wonderful first half of the term during which we have studied a diverse range of topics within our lessons. The Year 9 class have studied sequences, index rules and converting recurring decimals into fractions among other topics. The focus has changed slightly now as they return after the half-term break and Year 9 review and extend their knowledge of transformations this week. It is time to enjoy the artistic side of Mathematics.

Year 12 also looked at transformations earlier this term. They investigated the transformation of functions and how transformations impacted on the domain and range of functions; this included the knowledge that the graph of the inverse of a function is a reflection in the line y=x of the original function.
