This term, Year 7 spent 3 weeks studying and discussing the world’s great religions.
The students’ own research served to show how popular and widespread religious beliefs remain.
We also emphasised how much unites different religions and how much they have in common.
Christianity has 2.4 billion followers in the world.
Christians read the bible which is a combination of the Old and the New Testaments.
There are outstanding monuments to the Christian religion in many parts of the world.
One of the most instantly recognisable, is the statue called Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro.
Lauryn and Sean
Islam has 1.9 billion followers across the world.
This makes up just under 25% of the world’s population.
Followers of Islam are called Muslims. They are taught that God is merciful, all-powerful and unique.
Laaibah and Zahra
Hindus believe in a universal soul called Brahma who takes many different forms.
Hindus often worship their own personal god or goddess.

The Basilica de la Sagrada Familia (The Basilica of the Holy Family)
It is located in the Catalan district of Barcelona in Spain.
It was designed by the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi and it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
