Year 5 News

10th May 2024

In Year 5, we kicked off the term with energy and enthusiasm. Our focus on the Maya civilization sparked our interest, culminating in a captivating assembly where we showcased our knowledge. Currently, we're immersed in our science unit, delving into the changes and properties of materials. We have already distinguished various properties and organized materials accordingly.

Mathematics has us buzzing as we dive into the world of shapes. We've been sketching and measuring angles, and even mastering calculations at a point. Week 4 promises excitement as we delve into the unit on position and direction.

English has been a delight as we explore the humorous poems of Michael Rosen, contrasting them with those of Rogers'. Our foray into persuasive writing has resulted in some compelling adverts.

Outside the classroom, anticipation is building for our upcoming residential trip to Maungu hills, with fingers crossed for favorable weather conditions.
