Year 5 News

21st January 2023

We have had an amazing start to the term with the children exploring instructional and explanation texts in English. They have been planning and writing their own instructions and explanations. They enjoyed peer assessing each other’s work against the learned features. It was amazing seeing the children editing their peers’ work. They are eager and full of joy to follow their instructions next week in our DT lessons.

In Geography, we are exploring 'The People of Kenya'. The children are buzzing with joy, preparing for our class assembly that will take place on Friday week 3. They have already learned so much about the different people in Kenya and their culture. They have been painting lots of art pieces on the people of Kenya in readiness for our assembly. Come to see our assembly and get ready to learn a lot from the children in the different communities in Kenya.
