Year 5 News

13th September 2024

What an incredible start to the term! Year 5 students have hit the ground running and adapted effortlessly to their new classroom. Every morning, I am met with a group of eager and enthusiastic learners, which brings me great joy. These students have embraced the challenges of moving up a grade with remarkable maturity and a strong commitment to their education.

We began the term by sharing and writing holiday recounts, and it was truly rewarding to read about the diverse experiences each student had. In Science, our focus has been on Earth and space. The students have already gained a wealth of knowledge about the planets in our solar system, and they had a blast creating three-dimensional models of these celestial bodies during their Art lesson. They are also hard at work preparing for their upcoming assembly on the same topic, eager to share their newfound expertise.

In Geography, our theme this term is "Extreme Weather." We've explored the fascinating world of various extreme weather events, and the students are finding this topic incredibly engaging. Our study of Roman Numerals has also been both educational and enjoyable. The students have relished breaking down numbers to express them using Roman numerals, showing wonderful enthusiasm. Across all other subjects, they continue to produce high-quality work, demonstrating their passion for learning.

We look forward to an exceptional year ahead filled with growth and discovery.
