Year 4 News

29th September 2023

What an incredible start to the term we've had! Over the past five weeks, our Year 4 students have been overflowing with enthusiasm, absorbing knowledge like sponges, and sharing plenty of joyful moments.

In Mathematics, our focus has been on Number and Place Value. The journey through these concepts has been truly remarkable, all thanks to the unwavering determination of our learners and the diverse range of engaging teaching methods employed in the classroom.

In the world of Science, we embarked on a fascinating exploration of the human digestive system. The highlight of this journey was conducting a scientific investigation into tooth decay, and the results took us by surprise! We have also been working on illustrating and labeling the key components of the digestive system. It's been eye-opening to discover that by consuming a variety of nutritious foods, we can supply our digestive system with the essential nutrients it needs to operate at its best.

In history, we set off on an exciting adventure aboard the Lunatic Express, delving into the history of the Kenya – Uganda railway line. We can hardly wait to uncover the truth behind the tales of the Tsavo man-eaters!

Our English lessons have been centered around Aesop's Fables. We've not only learned about the structure and features of fables but have also enjoyed reading several of Aesop's timeless tales. Along the way, we've picked up valuable life lessons.

These past few weeks have been filled with thrilling learning experiences, and our excitement knows no bounds as we look forward to what the rest of the term holds in store for us. Stay tuned for more adventures and discoveries as we continue to flourish and thrive in Year 4!
