Year 10 PSHCE - Positive Role Models

22nd March 2024

Influences

This half of term, Year 10 students experienced a variety of lessons linked to the topic of Influence. We discussed positive and negative influences, talked about substance abuse, tobacco, alcohol, gangs and role models. One of the learning tasks was to choose a famous person or a real person and create a short presentation to explain why they were a positive role model.

Mme Mwangi

A role model is someone others look to as a good example. An example of a role model was I chose my mother.

  • She is very hardworking and she works in a business which inspired me to also want to work hard.
  • She was my first teacher and taught me a lot I have to know in my life.
  • My mother was always there to help me at my worst.
  • She has taught me how to respect people and she cooks very well.
  • She always taught me to see the positive of things and not the worst.
  • She motivates me to do tasks even if they are hard.
  • She is always there for me when I need her.

LeBron James Sr. is a basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. He is a good role model because he helps people out and donates money to charity and shows that black people can play basketball. He is ambitious and resilient, which are two factors a role model should have so that they influence young children to be better.
