“The more you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you will go.”
Dr Seuss
Students and teachers enjoyed our book day brimming with literary magic, creativity, and boundless enthusiasm as our students brought their favourite stories to life in vibrant colours and spirited costumes. From the moment the parade began, the air was filled with excitement and anticipation. Students paraded down the catwalk, adorned in fantastic costumes. From Harry Potter to Pete the Cat, Little Red Riding Hood to Things 1 and 2, each costume was a testament to the imagination and creativity of our young and older readers.
Throughout the day each class rotated through a range of activities with different teachers. Some of the activities that children participated in were retelling stories through drama and music, making story spoons for different characters and using art to create characters.
During class time, the students shared who they were dressed up as and why they chose that character. At the end of the day some teachers shared their favourite books from when they were younger, reading special extracts from them.
Thank you to all our enthusiastic teachers and students for an amazing creative literacy day. Thank you to all our parents who helped their children to decide on and create their costumes for the day.
“Keep reading. It's one of the most marvellous adventures that anyone can have.”
