Tea Testing Trip

5th May 2018

On Wednesday, to kick start our new topic, ‘Tea’, we were fortunate enough to be invited to visit Tea House in Mombasa, and learn all about the journey of tea leaves from Kenya to the wider world. We learned about how tea is graded, and that different countries have a preference for different tasting teas. The highlight of the trip on the cold, dreary day was warming our bones, sampling the vast array of delicious brews.  On our return to school, we used atlases to locate the countries that we had discovered are major importers of Kenyan tea. A huge thank you to Mr. Mwatha and his team for hosting us and sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for tea with us so generously.
