Science is an essential part of our educational system. It is indispensable for the students to develop scientific sense during their young age.As a result, they have interacted with the lab equipment, apparatus and different practicals, and gained different skills. From our photos, the students enjoy hands-on activities and they stay engaged throughout the session.
The year 8 young scientists carried out a couple of experiments, one of the investigations was about how light travels.Once light has been produced,it will keep travelling in a straight line until it hits something else. Shadows are evidence of light travelling in straight lines. An object blocks light so that it can't reach the surface where we see the shadow.
The year 7 young scientists among others, carried out burning experiments. They heated steel wool using the bunsen burner. The heat and large amount of surface area allowed the iron in the steel wool to burn or combine with the oxygen in the air. Also, when the magnesium metal burned, it reacted with oxygen found in the air to form Magnesium Oxide.
Other students also managed to carry out a heart and lung dissection. There are many things to look and learn about inside the heart. Some of the things they found out included: Valves, the tricuspid and bicuspid valves which were easily visible and divide the atriums from the ventricles.
Kindly have a sample of pictures and videos to show what goes on in our science labs.
