5th December 2025
On Wednesday we took the last two lessons of the day to celebrate Mathematics and enjoy some of the less obvious ways that it appears in life. It is always important to remember that Mathematics is not just about numbers and calculations; it is about thinking and solving problems.
Mr Collins and Ms Mang’oli ran an activity that combined Art with Mathematics using construction to create impossible objects such as the ones below.

Ms Mkok and Mr Morang’a supervised problem-solving activities where students worked in groups to find the solution to a problem using the information from clue cards. This activity helps to develop their application of logic to a situation. In the third activity the Year 13 A-Level Mathematics Class planned a treasure hunt on the school grounds with coordinates to find a treasure and a variety of Maths questions that needed to be solved to help them get there. This gave them a further opportunity to show off their leadership and organization skills. This activity was created and run entirely by the Y13 Maths students as part of their leadership development opportunities.
