Roman Army Training

This term Year 7 are studying the Roman Empire.

The power of Rome was heavily based on a highly trained and well equipped army.

Thus the students had a go at throwing javelins – or pilums – as the Romans preferred to call them.

Back in the classroom we talked about the high level of discipline combined with modern weaponry which made the Roman army so powerful for so long.
