This month, our Arts Department has continued to celebrate the rich tapestry of diverse art cultures. We are excited to share our recent highlights and upcoming events that embody this spirit.
Our Year 9 students have engaged deeply with the theme of conservation, focusing on the monarch butterfly, a species nearing extinction. Through various artistic mediums, they explored the significance of this beautiful creature, fostering awareness about biodiversity and environmental protection.
In conjunction with our butterfly project, we celebrated Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This vibrant Mexican tradition allowed our students to explore cultural significance through art, artworks that reflect the essence of remembrance and celebration of life. We look forward to them creating an artistic altar at the end of this term.
Our younger students are diligently practising their foundational artistic skills. As they build confidence, they will soon embark on a journey through different art movements and cultures, discovering the stories and techniques behind renowned artists.
BTEC Level 2 students have kicked off their introductory course with enthusiasm, diving into the basics of art theory and practice.
BTEC Level 3 students are proudly preparing for their first mini exhibition, showcasing their creative talents and hard work. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to display their unique perspectives and artistic expressions.
As we look forward to our major exhibition at the end of the year, we assure you that many surprises await! Our students are working tirelessly to present their best works, and we cannot wait to share their creativity with you.
This term, we encourage students to participate in ongoing competitions, such as the Orchids in Cinema, due by September 30th, and Magical Moments from COBIS, with a deadline of November 1st. These competitions inspire creativity by allowing students to practise art outside the classroom, and we cannot wait to share the outcomes!
Thank You!
We sincerely appreciate the support from all parents in encouraging our students to push beyond their creative boundaries. Your involvement makes a significant difference in their artistic journey.
Stay tuned for more updates!
