30th June 2022
The Year 7 and 8 students participated in the Braeburn Science Fayre hosted by Braeburn Gitanga Road, Nairobi.
This fair gave students an opportunity to apply the scientific method to conduct independent research. The results of each student's research were presented. Our students were happy to attend and to display their scientific inquiry in the form of presentations and hands on practicals, and managed to answer the questions from the audience. Our students had a good experience.
Kate: This fair exposed me to observe other students' work and I really learnt a lot and my experience at the fair was great. I enjoyed socialising with students and explained my project with confidence.
James: It was a fun experience. I had to explain my project many times to different people which was tiring.
Fahad: It was good seeing Braeburn schools working together and sharing ideas. I learnt a lot from the presentations.
Jasmine: I enjoyed the trip and the sleep-over at the Nairobi Braeburn School. It was also fun listening to the presentation of the digestive system made from recycled materials.
Abhinav: It was exciting but tiring because I had to stand the whole time and constantly explain my project. It was a good experience though.
Ana: It was interesting to see other people’s projects, like the one for using moringa seeds to purify water. I also enjoyed explaining my project to the other students, parents and teachers.
Aden: Initially I was nervous because there were too many people but later I gained the confidence to explain my project. I learnt how to make a parachute.
Hendrika: I enjoyed explaining my project to younger and older students. I had a good time listening to the project on flame test.
We were happy to present the certificates which were awarded to the students during our assembly.
Have a look at some pictures of how it went.
