7th July 2023
It is the end of another successful term/academic year here at BMIS. I want to take a moment to reflect on the achievements and progress made by our Key Stage 3 students. It has been a term filled with growth, learning, and exciting experiences for our learners who have continued to demonstrate their dedication to academic success. Across all subjects, they have displayed enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge, which has led to a huge percentage surpassing their end-of-year subject targets.
At BMIS, we recognise that learners enjoying academic success is just one facet of a well-rounded individual. Therefore, beyond the classroom our students have also participated in various extracurricular activities: Sports teams, art activities, environmental awareness, and debating sessions (recent BMIS political debate), to mention but a few, are some of the activities students have explored this term, which has led to developed passions, valuable teamwork and leadership skills.
Furthermore, we have continued to enhance our pastoral care and support systems to ensure the well-being of our students. The Assistant Headteacher has kept close track of our students’ wellbeing through an online platform called skodel. This is a fun, simple and fast wellbeing check-in tool that gives students a voice that can be easily and safely heard. During Mental Awareness Week earlier this term, various activities were organised to promote mindfulness, stress management, and healthy relationships. Students are also aware that teachers will be readily available to provide guidance and support whenever needed.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the parents and guardians for your continuous support and partnership throughout the year. Your involvement and engagement in your child's education have contributed to their overall success. We greatly appreciate your trust in us and look forward to another year of collaboration.
On behalf of the entire Key Stage 3 team, I wish you all a wonderful and restful summer break. Stay safe, recharge your batteries, and return in September ready for another exceptional year ahead.
