Primary Music

25th February 2023

This term Year 6 have been looking at various ways of notating music. We have explored western notation and graphic notation. In western notation, students familiarise themselves with reading notes on the treble and bass clef. They attempted to sight-play several pieces on the piano such as ‘Ram sam sam’. Graphic notation on the other hand uses symbols to represent dynamics, pitch or to represent instruments. Here are some examples of dot notation and line notation from the students.
