At Braeburn Mombasa International School, there are a range of after school activities available for the students to choose from throughout the week. Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities, based on their personal interests. The activities are selected to provide physical and artistic opportunities in addition to the curriculum.
The extracurricular activities support the development of individual students, allowing them the opportunity to explore different areas of interest, develop peer relationships, boost new talent, learn new skills and broaden their social skills, giving them the chance to work with students from different classes and age groups and learn how to work in a team to achieve a shared goal. Activities on offer include sporting and art activities, debate club, yoga, ballet and martial arts.

This half term, we have been developing our skills in readiness for some matches in the second half of the term. Drills have focussed on catching, throwing, retrieving, bowling and batting and we are looking forward to some high quality matches soon!

The debate club has provided us with plenty of enjoyable discussions on various topics. We've been tuning into TV programs featuring accomplished debaters to draw inspiration. Selecting topics and passionately debating our viewpoints has been an incredible experience.

Karaoke club is so much more than singing- it's expressive art! We sing, we dance, we draw and colour, we build, we share, we laugh. It's our chance to really enjoy our time together, all to the backdrop of some really great tunes!

In our outdoor games’ activity, the children have a blast stretching their legs and unleashing their creativity while playing a variety of exciting games. From the classic ‘dodgeball’ to the hilarious ‘piggy in the middle’, our young adventurers are enjoying running, dodging, and laughing together. Treasure hunts lead them on thrilling quests to uncover hidden treasures, and hoola hoop circuits challenge their coordination and balance. And let’s not forget the fun races that have everyone racing to the finish lines with smiles on their faces. It’s always a fantastic Thursday of active play and imaginative fun, reminding us all that outdoor games are a great way to have fun and stay healthy!

Process art is the idea that the journey of creation is more important than the final product you create. It’s all about experimentation and play. The children have enjoyed putting up their creations from boats to houses to name plates and dinosaurs. This week we learnt about colour etching and every child created their own pictures after learning the technique.
Amina: “I love process art because I love to do art”.
Oli: “I like to colour and paint.”
Iviani: “ I like it because it's colourful”.
Mrs Juzer
What a lot of fun we have had in The Strategy Society this term! We have learnt how to play many new games including Blokus, Colour Puzzles and what we have named ‘The Oranges Game’, as well as played some golden oldies like Scrabble and The Game of Life!
We also explored different ways to ensure a win in games such as ‘Coconut, Coconut, Coconut, Crack’. - Watch out if any of these students challenge you to a game!
Mrs Sennik
Rugby has been an exciting sport for the children. They have been enjoying playing games, improving their rugby skills and learning about teamwork.
