22nd September 2022
On Friday 16th September 2022, an art workshop was organised for the students of Year 5, 6, 7 and 8. Yona is an artist who runs workshops for children in order to raise awareness of plastic pollution, especially in the oceans. Yona’s team started by finding out what students know about plastic pollution and then explained the UN Sustainable Goals. After the theory, students were given a plywood board painted blue, on which they drew a marine landscape or animal. Once their design was complete, they chose coloured plastic bottle tops to stick and bring their work to life.
It was clear from the buzz in the dining hall that students thoroughly enjoyed the activity. Thank you to Yona and his team for choosing BMIS for their workshop and well done to the students for their wonderful creations.
