Party Political Election Debate: Monday 1st July 2024

28th June 2024

Our annual party-political election debate will be held on Monday 1st July, during periods 5 and 6.

Students from Year 6 to Year 9 will be forming their own political parties and promoting their ideas.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask our young politicians questions about their proposals.

I am pleased to announce that this year, the event will be presented by three Year 10 students: Ana, Haiqa and Saraï.

2024 Political Party Debate

  • Name: Asterale Islands
  • Named after the herbal name for dandelions which stands for liberty
  • The young yellow flower represents the range of ideas young people have that are slowly spread into the world over time by a small ‘blow’ over a wish.
  • How the debate will work: Haiqa, Sarai and I are the government of the island who are stepping down and thus hold an election for the next government
  • All ideas by parties are open and the Islands face the same sorts of problems as any other country out there as long as there’s a central belief of freedom and liberty
  • The flag:

  • The election will be held the way that was discussed in lessons before with Mr Daniels and Ms Mkok.
  • Our government will be handling the whole election process so if you have any enquiries, please reach out to us.
