Last Saturday the whole school came together to host eleven other schools in a huge swimming gala. I would like to think that the togetherness and collaboration of all the staff helped run the event in such a positive way. Everyone from grounds staff, kitchen, admin TA’s and teachers along with our Braeburn group Swim coach Anze Dacar needs recognition for their input and commitment.
We saw swimmers from the whole of the coast region including as far as Malindi coming together to show their skills and enjoy a gala, some for the first time. We would like to thank the swimmers and their parents for their attendance and the amazing atmosphere that was created for the swimmers.
We had some excellent results from our swimmers, as Ms Chebet explains below. We are very proud of their achievements and we are looking forward to hosting more of these events as we continue to develop our swimming.
We have also started morning and afternoon swimming sessions to support our swimmers with our new coach, Jaqueline. If you are interested in these free sessions please contact Ms Chebet, Jaqueline, or myself at school.
Thanks,
Mr Moyse and the Sports department
We would like to commend our swimmers for an outstanding performance during the Mombasa International schools league Inter-school swimming Gala held at BMIS last weekend.
Our boys and girls team worked tremendously hard during the competition, performing very well in both their relays and individual events. 8-9 year boys were 2nd position in medley relay and 3rd in the freestyle relay, 7 and under boys were 2nd position in both relays. Top finishers in various events were: Etienne, Nyandeng, Fatema, Vyan, Nathan, Alenka and Sophia.
Congratulations to the team of: Nathan, Etienne, Dev, Sophia, Fatema, Aaryan, Nuriyah, Vyan, Clementine, Olivia, Nyandeng, Umulisa, Otto, Alenka, Ishmeer and Adam.
We are very proud of our swimmers and they were a credit to the school, both in the pool and at the poolside.
Well done team!
