Comment ca va?

The first topic this term for the Year 9s, was to review the present tense, the adjectival agreement, describing someone's outfit, physical appearance and personality. The topic was familiar but the expectations were higher than the previous years since they are gearing up for the IGCSE course. I have been impressed with all the Year 9 students so far and they have collected a lot of house points in French lessons, a fair reward for their effort.

On Tuesday, they focused on the speaking test for this first unit and developed a greater understanding of the amount of detail expected for the various questions. Students must remember to use the past and future tense to reach levels 5 and 6. On Wednesday, they used the recommended websites zut, linguascope and languagesonline to revise the vocabulary and practise conjugations and adjectival agreement.

We also revised asking and answering questions and therefore looked at the key question words. Can you match them?

Qui? Quand? Quoi? Comment? Combien? Où? Pourquoi?

Where? How? Who? What? Why? When? How much/many?
