In week 9, Key Stage 3 and Year 10 Art students had the incredible opportunity to embark on a stimulating journey of artistic discovery at Studio Bella Bella. This renowned art studio, nestled in the heart of Bamburi, opened its doors to our young creatives, providing an immersive experience in Photography, Sculpting, and Graphic design. The visit aimed to broaden their artistic horizons and foster a deeper appreciation for various forms of artistic expression.
The day began with an engaging Photography session, where the students learned the fundamentals of composition, lighting, and perspective. Under the expert guidance of Studio Bella Bella's resident photographer Mr Ali, they discovered the power of capturing a moment in time through their lenses. Armed with cameras, the students eagerly explored the studio's premises, capturing the beauty of everyday objects from unique angles. The result was a remarkable collection of images that showcased their keen eye for detail and imaginative vision.
Next, the students delved into the realm of Sculpting, where they were introduced to a myriad of materials and techniques. Guided by Ms Happy, they experimented with clay, giving life to abstract portraits. As their hands moulded and shaped, they discovered the joy of transforming raw materials into tangible works of art. From abstract sculptures to intricate figurines, each piece reflected the unique personalities and artistic sensibilities of the students.
Finally, the students explored the world of Graphic Design, diving into the realm of digital creativity. Equipped with IPads and design software, they learned how to manipulate images, play with typography, and create visually appealing compositions. From designing the school’s logo to crafting their own, their imagination knew no bounds. Witnessing their ideas come to life on the screen was an empowering experience, leaving them inspired to continue honing their graphic design skills. Mr Arnold did a good job!
The visit to Studio Bella Bella proved to be an enriching and memorable experience for our Key Stage 3 students and Year 10 Art students. Through their immersion in the 3 activities, they were able to unlock their creativity, discover new artistic mediums, and gain a deeper understanding of the power of self-expression. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Studio Bella Bella for opening its doors and nurturing the artistic talents of our young learners. We hope that this experience will continue to ignite their passion for the arts and inspire them to explore their creative potential further.
