28th October 2022
From Wednesday 12th October to Sunday 16th October the Year 10 and 11 students went for a very exciting 4-night and 5-day residential trip to Savage Wilderness Safaris Camp in Naivasha - Nakuru county.
The objectives of the trip included learning how to build confidence and self-awareness by engaging in activities that offer challenge through adventure, building resilience and leadership skills while promoting health and fitness as well as creating environmental awareness.
The students camped for one night in Limuru, Kereita forest, 2 nights in Hell's Gate and the last night in Naivasha, sanctuary farm. They were taught how to set up a tent and enjoyed some time sleeping in the wild and got a chance to stay with animals in their habitat at Hell’s Gate. While there they embarked on activities including a late evening game drive, rock climbing at Fischer’s Tower, soaking in the pool at Olkaria geothermal spa and bike riding through the park. They got to see beautiful sceneries and many wild animals in their natural habitat. They then took a boat ride to Lake Naivasha during which they saw hippopotamus families and many bird species. In addition, they also learnt several survival skills and played board games.
