KS2 News - Term 2

13th January 2023

Happy New Year and welcome back to a new term in Key Stage 2. The fizz and buzz of excited chatter and enthusiastic questions are already filling the school as the children embark on new learning adventures in their classrooms, which are full of wonderful, fresh displays for our new topics.

This term is an exciting one for Years 3 and 4 as they begin rehearsals and preparations for their production. Many of the children spent time over the holidays learning their lines and they are eager to get started.

‘Ancient Egypt’ and ‘Rainforests’ are the fabulous topics that our lower KS2 children will be embarking on, in amongst rehearsals. In Year 3, minds will grow alongside their plants topic for science; and in Year 4, the children will be sparking their neuron pathways with their electricity topic. Year 5 have already broadened their horizons with their ‘People in Kenya’ topic, alongside their science work on living things and their habitats. In Year 6, we are studying inheritance and evolution in our science lessons; for topic work, they will be considering imports, exports and fairtrade in Kenya, the UK and across the world.

With children already away for a swimming gala, class assembly preparations, special days, trips and projects, among so many other events, it is going to be another whirlwind of a term- we can’t wait!

We hope you enjoy talking to their children about their learning- what can they teach you today?!
