KS2 News

28th April 2023

A warm welcome back to term 3- and what a short but packed term we have ahead of us!

The highlight of this term for many of the KS2 children are the residential trips that will be heading out: Y4 to Shimba Hills, Y5 to Tsavo East and Y6 to Sagana. Y3 enjoyed their trip to Mnarani last term, after their fantastic performance of ‘Zoom’.

Our hard-working teams have already got exciting displays up and learning opportunities started for their brand new topics:

Year 3 are staying calm and learning all about tea! They will also learn about rocks and space in their science and history lessons.

Year 4 will be finding out about rivers in geography; liquids, solids and gases in science; and the Tudors will be reigning over their history lessons.

In Year 5, the Mayans will rule history lessons. Science lessons will revolve around materials and their properties and geography lessons will explore the world’s resources, examining the increasingly necessary renewable sources of energy.

Year 6 are getting stuck into some classification conundrums in science, while the Greeks are rocking our world in history. Our geography lessons will focus on coasts and rivers.

As you move around the school, we do hope you enjoy the wide variety of colourful displays and children’s work on show.

Get performance ready for BGT in the final week and keep an eye on the BMIS app for updates and reminders for all of our upcoming events.

Have a great term.

Miss Russell
