Welcome to Term 3! A quick glance at the calendar should tell us that we are in for yet another fun-filled, bumper term in Key Stage 1! Despite the disruptions of several public holidays and more than a few torrential downpours, our students have begun the new term seamlessly and it is very obvious that the break was restful.
In Year 1, students have been busy adding and subtracting numbers to 20, identifying the key features in traditional tales and have begun learning how to classify animals into their associated groups. They have also commenced their unit, ‘Famous for More than 5 minutes’ and enjoyed learning about the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell.
In Year 2, students are learning about the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction in Maths and the different materials that familiar objects are made from in Science. In English, students are learning how to write quest stories, with a particular focus on sentence structure, and in History heading way back in time to the Stone Age era.
As always we thank you for your continued support from home and look forward to another exciting term ahead!
