This week, our Year 7, 8, and 9 Kiswahili students have been engaged in their end-of-term assessments, marking an important step in their language-learning journey. For Year 7, this has been particularly exciting as they prepare for their first-ever speaking assessments. Students have chosen their topics and are eager to present their work next week.
In addition to speaking assessments, Year 7 students have been working on their listening skills. They have been practising through a range of listening comprehension exercises, which include audio clips and practice tests. This training is designed to build their confidence and understanding as they transition from having only one Kiswahili lesson per week in primary school to three lessons in high school. This increased schedule allows us to cover more material in-depth, and it is encouraging to see their progress within just a few short weeks.
Overall, it has been an eventful period full of learning and growth. The dedication shown by our students as they adapt to a more rigorous schedule and new types of assessments is commendable. We look forward to seeing their continued improvement and enthusiasm for Kiswahili.
Well done to all our learners for their hard work!
