Inter-Braeburn Swimming Gala

On Thursday the 12th January, BMIS swimming team left Mombasa to attend and compete in the Inter-Braeburn swimming gala that was held on the 13th and the 14th of January 2023 at Braeside school, Nairobi.

We had three teams in the meet and it included the junior team, the intermediate and the senior team; the team comprised of the following swimmers: Alenka, Sophia, Daisy, Fatema, Dev, Ishmeer, Matis, Luca, Denis, Aiden, Nicole, Ariana, Jasmine, Ernest, Lilly-May and Aden

Everyone performed exceptionally well but there were a number of outstanding performances across the age groups with new meet records set. The individual medal holders were as follows: Alenka and Denis in Backstroke, Luca in 100 IM, Matis and Ernest in Breaststroke, Nicole and Fatema in Butterfly and finally Dev, Ariana, Aiden and Ernest in Freestyle.

The new meet record was set by Ariana in 50 metres freestyle, Dev in 25 metres freestyle and Nicole in 50 metres Butterfly.

All relay teams swam strongly coming home in fast times, increasing the experience and confidence of all the swimmers involved.

Overall it was a very enjoyable and successful event. Congratulations to all our swimmers for always making us proud!
