Inclusion News

In our inclusion department we have seamlessly integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) through various applications to enhance and reinforce spelling skills among our diverse group of learners. We have engaged students in dynamic exercises that transform traditional spelling drills into enjoyable, gamified experiences. These applications have allowed us to tailor the difficulty levels of spelling to individual proficiency, ensuring that each student is appropriately challenged.

Our students have also enjoyed using wipe-clean cards to learn grammar skills. The use of these reusable cards has significantly enhanced their learning experience as it gives them the opportunity to practise grammar concepts repeatedly, reinforcing their understanding through hands-on, interactive activities. The cards being tactile enables them to explore their varying learning styles, promoting a multisensory learning environment. Furthermore, the ability to erase and retry fosters growth mindset and a sense of confidence, particularly among students who may initially find certain grammar concepts challenging.

In mathematics, learners explored different 3-D shapes and objects while learning about the area of a cross-section and surface area. It is a fundamental idea aiding them in visualising and computing space within intricate three-dimensional objects. Understanding cross section area is not just about mathematical proficiency; it holds practical applications. Engineers, architects, and designers employ this concept when designing structures, determining volumes, and analysing shapes across various fields like construction, manufacturing, and architecture. This gave the learners an opportunity to make connections with real-life situations.
