IAPS Maths Challenge 2023

17th November 2023

Last week, many of Braeburn Mombasa’s strongest Primary mathematicians travelled to Kenton College in Nairobi to compete in the annual IAPS Maths Challenge.

With the brightest mathematical minds from IAPS schools throughout the country taking part, the standard of problem solving is always of a very high standard. We were extremely proud of both our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams, who not only represented our school with confidence and poise, but displayed some excellent reasoning skills in both stages of the challenge.

I would like to draw attention to the achievements of two of our pairings in particular:

  • Erin and Adam - finished equal 3rd (out of 20 pairings) in the Year 3 competition
  • Vyan and Aaryan - finished 4th (out of 39 pairings) in the Year 5/6 competition

We now look forward to hosting other Mombasa schools for the upcoming Braeburn Mombasa Inter-School Maths Challenge in term 2. Stay tuned for further details.
