HABARI ZA KISWAHILI

7th February 2022

These past five weeks our topics in Year 7 and 8 have cut across the four main skills which are Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. The Y7s enjoyed the topic of food and explored foods and cuisines from different parts of the world on our topic ‘Vyakula’. It was interesting to learn that some of their individual favourite foods/meals do not originate from their culture. The Year 8s have enjoyed telling stories from a given series of pictures where they had to connect the different parts displayed to make a complete story.

Last week on Friday 28th was puzzle day and the students enjoyed solving the many puzzles available at school and others that teachers and students brought from home. Some of the Kiswahili puzzles were from the ‘TAIFA LEO’ which is a local (countrywide) Kiswahili newspaper produced and printed by the Nation Media Group. The School buys several copies every week for the Kiswahili students to enjoy and learn. Students can continue solving puzzles in Kiswahili online via the Taifa Leo website.
