FS1 children have kicked off the new academic year with enthusiasm and curiosity. They have settled into their new class environment and are eagerly exploring a range of activities each day.
We have begun the term by learning about farm animals. They’ve been learning about the various animals, the products we get from them, and the different sounds they make. A highlight of their learning was listening to the story "What the Ladybird Heard," which helped them name different animals and discuss what each one provides.
In Personal, Social, and Emotional Development (PSED), our focus is on understanding feelings, emotions, and friendships. The children are exploring different emotions and reflecting on what makes them feel happy, sad, angry, worried, excited, scared and upset.
Through shared play experiences, storytelling, friendship games, and making gifts for friends, they are developing their social skills and building meaningful relationships.
The children have been expressive in discussing their emotions, creating faces with playdough, and engaging in imaginative play with the small world farm tuff tray. They’ve also enjoyed making their own farm animals as part of their creative activities.
It’s been a wonderful start to the academic year, and we look forward to more learning and fun ahead!
