Environmentally Aware Individuals

Braeburn Mombasa International School supports Watamu Marine Association (WMA) in their recycling efforts.

Plastic waste can be dropped in a large wheelie bin at the exit gate

WMA can recycle any hard plastic containers i.e. cleaning product containers, ice cream tubs, water bottles, shampoo bottles, etc and they do not have to be clean. WMA also accepts toothbrushes and marker pens. They can find sustainable solutions for the netting some supermarkets use in their fruit and veg section; although it is preferable to use alternative bags as nets are highly dangerous to marine life and wildlife if not disposed of safely.
