As we journey through the term, various language-related activities, events and achievements are happening within the school and we have seen students put to good use reading and writing skills acquired over the years in school.
A team of 7 enthusiastic delegates recently embarked on an extraordinary adventure as they represented our school at the prestigious East African Model United Nations conference held at the UN complex in Nairobi. Driven by a passion for global affairs they dove into the intricacies of diplomacy, writing resolutions, conducting thorough research, and engaging in thought-provoking debates. It was truly inspiring to witness their dedication and commitment to addressing pressing global issues, embodying the spirit of future leaders.
In anticipation of World Book Day, preparations are in full swing to celebrate the literary marvels that enrich our lives, and Key Stage 3 students are working on an array of captivating activities centered around their literature texts as they prepare to celebrate the day. From interactive discussions of themes and events to cross-curricular collaboration with other subjects, we aim to cultivate a deep appreciation for the written word and encourage a lifelong love for reading books.
As they progress on their academic journey, the Y11 IGCSE and Y9 candidates recently completed their Mock and Pre-mock examinations respectively during the first half of the term. These assessments serve as crucial milestones in their educational trajectory, providing valuable insights into their strengths and areas for growth. With the upcoming Checkpoint and AS Mock examinations, we are committed to guiding and supporting our students every step of the way, ensuring they are well-prepared to excel academically and beyond.
As we reflect on these enriching experiences, we continue to foster a nurturing reading environment and culture where we embrace the power of words to ignite imagination and spark dialogue ahead of the soon-to-be-celebrated World Book Day.
