Writing in any language and poetry allows us to articulate our thoughts and emotions while serving as a powerful tool for bringing people together. Poetry offers a rich avenue for creative expression and this year, BMIS students joined writers from across the globe in the 2024/25 Poetry Competition organised by COBIS. The theme for this year's competition, “Magical Moments,” inspired them to explore the extraordinary in the everyday. Over the past few weeks, they poured their creativity into crafting original poems that reflect this enchanting theme.
These poems were also submitted for the annual Braeburn Mombasa Inter-House competition, which aims to showcase the best literary talents within our school.
The winners of the Inter-House competition were selected and announced during Friday's assembly. We are proud to share that two outstanding finalists will represent BMIS in this year’s COBIS Poetry Competition.
We celebrate the creativity and hard work of all our young poets and look forward to seeing their talents shine on the broader stage. Let us continue to support each other in exploring the beauty of language and the magic of poetic expression!
Winners for each category are as follows:
Category B: Key Stage 3
Category C: Key Stage 4
A heartfelt thank you to all the students who participated in the Braeburn Mombasa Inter-House Competition by sharing their wonderful poetry! Your creativity and dedication truly shone through. Congratulations to our winners, Aaryan and Kylan, who will proudly represent our school in the 2024/25 COBIS Poetry Competition. We are excited to see how your talent will shine on this larger stage!
