The Primary COBIS games is an international competition that brings together Year 5 and 6 students from across the world for a celebration of sports and camaraderie. This year's event was a landmark moment as it marked the first time the games were held on the African continent. Our school was honoured to host this prestigious event, and our young athletes certainly made the most of the opportunity, showcasing their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. We also had the privilege of meeting Mr Colin Bell, the CEO of COBIS.
Our team of competitors trained diligently in their field and track events, swimming races and in football, in preparation for the event, guided by our dedicated PE team who provided expert coaching and support. Our team of student leaders also worked hard to help run the events, to score and to ensure fair play. We are very proud of all of our Year 5 and 6 students. They were excellent ambassadors for Braeburn Mombasa and made our school proud.
In addition to the athletic competitions, the COBIS games offered our students the opportunity to make new friends and engage with students from different cultures and backgrounds. This cultural exchange was a valuable experience, fostering global awareness and a sense of unity among the participants through a variety of social activities, such as a trip on the Tamarind Dhow and a mocktail party.
We look forward to participating in future COBIS games and continuing to support our students in their sporting pursuits. Well done to all!
